Compatibility between US Offshore Balancing Strategy and ASEAN’s Great Power Balance Strategy

东盟作为小国联盟,其大国平衡战略的重要特点是平衡大国力量,维护自身利益.它与美国的离岸平衡战略具有契合性,都有试图制衡中国崛起的共同意愿.构建和平、稳定、繁荣的亚太区域新秩序有必要升级中国与东盟关系,打造中国和东盟命运共同体,进一步完善中国的东盟政策.

As an alliance of small countries,the important characteristic of ASEAN’s balance strategy of great powers is to balance the great power and safeguard its own interests.The offshore balancing strategy of the United States is compatible with the great power balance strategy of ASEAN,and they both have the common desire to try to counterbalance the rise of China.To build a peaceful,stable and prosperous new order in the Asia-pacific region,it is necessary to upgrade China-ASEAN relations,build a community of shared future between China and ASEAN,and further improve China’s policy of ASEAN.
