牡丹是原产于我国的名花,它栽培历史悠久、种植广泛且有广大的审美群体。牡丹花姿、花色独特,品格和精神也能反映中华民族的价值追求,并涵盖其他名花的基本价值取向。同时,它还是中华民族多元文化的象征,在历史上已实际具有国花的称谓和美誉度。牡丹具有观赏性与实用性的统一,在今天,其象征意蕴仍具有现实的价值和意义,所以,牡丹作为国花符合大众的心理期盼。
