On Ding Ling and Northwest Battlefield Service Corps

全面抗战时期,丁玲率领西北战地服务团自1937年8月赴山西前线服务,至1938年8月返回延安。丁玲作为女作家,又是妇女文艺工作者,她组织妇女到前线,不仅进行物质的慰劳,还进行了文艺汇演、刊登街头壁报、撰写采访通讯等工作,在宣传、组织和动员群众支援抗战方面发挥了重要的作用。西北战地服务团中的妇女面临很大的考验,在生活上、工作中完全和男同志一样,她们辛劳英勇,担任爬山、放哨、警戒等工作,在文艺宣传、军民联络等方面发挥了重要的作用,有效地配合了前线战事,增强了前线的性别色彩。丁玲领导的西北妇女战地服务团,更强调从下层和宣传动员方面着手,带有中共妇女动员的鲜明特色和时代特征。

During the Anti-Japanese War,Ding Ling led the Northwest Women’s Battlefield Service Corps to Shanxi front line in August 1937 and returned to Yan’an in August 1938.As a woman writer and a women literary worker,Ding Ling organized women to the front line.They not only provided material consolation,but also performed literary performances,published street posters,and wrote interview newsletters.They played an important role in advocating,organizing and mobilizing the masses to support the war of resistance against aggression.The women in the Northwest Field Service Corps faced great challenges.They lived and worked exactly like the men.They worked hard and bravely as mountain climbers,sentries and vigilantes.They played an important role in literary propaganda,military-civilian liaison and so on,effectively cooperated with front-line war,and added gender color to the Anti Japanese war.The Northwest Women’s Battlefield Service Corps led by Ding Ling also emphasized the promotion and mobilization from the lower levels,which had the distinct characteristics of CCP women’s mobilization work and the characteristics of the times.
