摘要
对于"五四运动"的"诠释",自始便在指涉的参与主体与活动方式上呈现出一定的倾向性与选择性。此类诠释脱胎于充斥着"五七"(或"五九")符号的政治运动氛围,却又不约而同地着力于淡化1919年爱国运动中"承前"的一面,进而构成了对于该年反日运动实际之复杂脉络的"简化"。而在另外的维度上,此类诠释又开始了"再复杂化":究应择取哪些事件与趋势以接在"五四运动"之后,答案言人人殊,这又回过来使得该词的诠释走向多歧化。之后,"五七"与"五四"两个符号并存,二者的诠释尚可相互影响。考察"五四运动"诠释发生及其初期演变的过程与逻辑,有助于今人更深入地认识"五四的历史"与"历史的五四"之间关联与张力的缘起。
The May Fourth hermeneutics was selective and tendentious.It was a mixture of minimization,simplification and(re-)complication in relation to the interpretation of different political symbols.The present paper attempts to examine the germination of May Fourth hermeneutics and changes taking place in its incipient stage,hoping that it can shed new light on the correlation and tension between the history of May Fourth and the historical May Fourth.
