Due to climate change and remote geographic location, the small Greenlandic communities of Narsaq,Qaanaaq, and Ittoqqortoormiit experienced the economic transformation.Based on the case study of these three peripheral Arctic communities, this paper discusses how the Inuit there economically adapted themselves to government policies and climate change when their traditional way of life based on hunting has been transformed. After drawing an historical and economic portray of each community, the author presents how Inuit hunters and fishermen make a living in remote regions and how climate change affects their traditional hunting activities.
