国外农村图书馆发展与服务研究综述

Reviews on the Development and Service of Rural Libraries Abroad

本文回顾了20世纪中叶以来国外农村图书馆发展与服务研究的代表性成果。综述显示,在全球范围内,农村图书馆都是公共图书馆体系中发展最为缓慢和薄弱的环节,相关研究并不呈现出明显的阶段性特征,而是围绕着农村图书馆的建立与持续发展、农村居民的图书馆服务需求、农村图书馆对于乡村发展的作用和农村图书馆的未来与服务创新等方面开展研究。结合国外研究经验,认为在当前我国农村图书馆事业整体上从求生存迈向谋发展的新时代的背景下,应该加强研究农村图书馆的内涵式发展、公共图书馆精神与理念的推广以及农村图书馆服务的创新与评估等问题。

The key purpose of this study is to investigate the nature of development and service of rural libraries overseas since the early 20th century.The review shows rural libraries are the slowest and weakest part of the public library system all over the world.The related researches do not show the obvious periodic nature,but concentrate on the establishment and sustainable development of rural libraries,the needs of rural residents,the role of rural libraries for rural development and the future and innovation of rural libraries.This study recognizes that today’s Chinese rural libraries are moving from the survival stage to the development stage,and suggests that we should strengthen the research of the connotative development of rural libraries,promotion the concept of the public library,and the innovation and evaluation of rural library services in the future.
