The Significance of Creating"Chinese Hermeneutics":From the Perspective of Philosophical Hermeneutics

复兴传统文化的关键,在于使中国传统经典“现代化”。而解决当今时代所遭遇的种种问题,汤一介先生在多年前提出了借鉴西方解释学而创建中国解释学的设想,意在通过对传统经典的现代解释使之对当代中国乃至世界产生深远的影响。就此而论,以伽达默尔为代表的哲学解释学对于创建中国解释学具有理论上和方法上的借鉴意义。

The key to reviving our traditional culture is to"modernize"Chinese traditional classics,so as to address various issues encountered in contemporary times.Many years ago,Professor Tang Yijie(汤一介)proposed an idea of creating Chinese hermeneutics by utilizing Western hermeneutics as reference,aiming to make Chinese traditional classics profoundly influential in contemporary China and even the world through their modernized interpretation.In this regard,the philosophical hermeneutics represented by Hans Georg-Gadamer(伽达默尔)may provide proper theories and methodologies as reference to underpin the creation of Chinese hermeneutics.
