Time Image and Li Bai's Comprehension and Expression of Life Essence

李白诗中表现出浓厚的生命意识,惊惧时光的飞逝,嗟叹生命不永,是生命意识在李白作品中至'为突出的表现。他创造了流光与石火、春荣与秋蓬、逆旅与过客、春殿与古丘等意象,以表现他对生命有限与宇宙无限的体验,而这种体验,实质上就是诗人对于生命本质在于瞬间的存在而终归虚无的体验。

Li Bai’s(李白) poems showed a strong life consciousness. Being awed at how time flew, he lamented on human mortality, which prominently indicated his life consciousness in his works. He created such images as flashes of time and sparks of flint, blooming in spring and withering lotus seedpods in autumn, inns abroad and passing travelers, and imperial halls in spring and tombs from ancient times, to express his experience of the mortal human life and the eternal universe, and this experience was in nature the poet’s experience of life essence which consisted in its transient existence and ultimate nothingness.
