“画以载道”虽然是一个传统命题,但其内涵与形式会随着时代的变迁而不断延展与创新,借助视觉语言传递特定时代的精神文化仍然是当代艺术家的要务。当代美术总体呈多元趋势发展,多元性是艺术自由的体现,也是学术与思想自由的体现,这是文艺领域非常良好的状态。正如德国新表现主义画家巴塞利兹所说:“艺术家不用对任何人负责……,他唯一的责任是保持他自由的创作态度。”从精神与文化层面切入当代中国美术创作,结合艺术家实际案例,探讨绘画之“道”。
