摘要
本文使用二语句法复杂性分析器(L2SCA)分析了初中、高中、普通大学和重点大学学生英语作文的句法复杂性。分析数据来自中国词网公司2018年举行的全国大学生百万同题写作项目收集的部分作文文本。采用的指标有子句平均长度(MLC)、句子平均长度(MLS)、T单位平均长度(MLT)、从句与子句的比率(DC/C)、并列短语与子句的比率(CP/C)和复杂名词短语与子句的比率(CN/C)。结果显示,所有指标的均值差异均能显著区分初中生和高中生的作文,MLC、CP/C和CN/C的均值差异能显著区分高中生和普通大学的学生,MLC、DC/C、CP/C和CN/C的均值差异能显著区分高中生和重点大学的学生,DC/C的均值差异能显著区分重点大学和普通大学的学生。
This paper explored syntactic complexity in EFL writing by students from junior high schools,senior high schools,ordinary universities and key universities.The material of writing texts are from an English writing campaign initiated by China Wordnet Company in 2018.The indices include mean length of clause(MLC),mean length of sentence(MLS),mean length of T-unit(MLT),the number of dependent clause per clause(DC/C),the number of coordinate phrase per clause(CP/C)and the number of complex nominals per clause(CN/C).The result showed that the mean value difference of all indices can significantly differentiate writing by students from junior high schools and senior high schools,the mean value difference of MLC,CP/C,CN/C can significantly differentiate writing by students from senior high schools and ordinary universities,the mean value difference of MLC,DC/C,CP/C,CN/C can significantly differentiate writing by students from senior high schools and key universities,while the mean value difference of DC/C can significantly differentiate writing by students from ordinary universities and key universities.
