Based on the teaching practice of American literature,this paper discusses the application of films in the teaching of American literature.This paper expounds the necessity and feasibility of film application in the teaching of American literature.Taking The Joy Luck Club as an example,it introduces the specific practice process of introducing films into the teaching of American literature and summarizes the gains and losses.Films help students analyze and appreciate literary works.What's more,films will stimulate the students' enthusiasm to read the original works of literature and cultivate the students' interest in reading.By introducing the films and returning to the works of literature,it can better achieve the teaching goal of American literature and improve the professional competence and humanistic quality of English majors.
