摘要
公示语的译写涉及公共服务信息传递、社会形象塑造和文化价值传播等多层面因素。国家标准《公共服务领域英文译写规范》为公示语译写提供了指导和规范。本文以该标准为参照,阐释了汉语公示语英译的"译"究竟是"翻译"还是"译写"这一问题,从语用角度探讨了公示语的译写范围、译写策略及其理据,体现了公示语研究从讨论翻译错误现象向更深层次的理论维度转变。
The translation of public signs involves multi-dimension factors,such as public service information releasing,social image building and cultural value promoting. The national standard"Guidelines for the Use of English in Public Areas"provides some guidance for the translation of public signs in China. This article discusses in some detail the scope and the strategies of the translation of public signs from a pragmatic view. It is hoped that the present research could help drive home the view that any successful translation of public signs is more of a technical matter.
