The thesis presented a bronze round-mouthed food vessel with two loop handles and Taotie design named Tāo Tiè Wén Gu in Chinese pinyin, which is among the Bronze antiques donated by Werner Jannings to The Palace Museum. Another four bronze vessels with the close motif have also been found, two of which bear the definite birthplace and archaeological cultural context. This TaotiePatterned Gui is studied to be produced in present Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan region during the late Shang to early Zhou dynasty, periodized into Phase Ⅲ of Weifang Culture. The ten characters proved to be faked that are found in the bottom of the bronze vessel by X-ray.
