葫芦,谐音“福禄”,是中国传统的吉祥物之一,人们常将其挂在家中作辟邪、招宝之用。在八仙文化盛行的蓬莱市,葫芦更是广受当地人的喜爱。通过非物质文化遗产葫芦雕刻技艺制作而成的“八仙葫芦”,便寄托了蓬莱人对葫芦那份特别的爱。在蓬莱市南王街道七里庄村,有一家颇具特色的葫芦博物馆。推门而入,各式各样的葫芦制品映人眼帘,令人目不暇接,大饱眼福。精雕细琢的葫芦灯、造型独特的葫芦吉他、用途各异的葫芦器具……置身浓厚的葫芦文化氛围之中,让人忘了时间,忘了自我。

Calabash,with its Chinese homophonic“Fulu”(fortune),is one of the traditional symbols in China,often found suspended in a home for exorcising evil spirits and bringing in wealth and treasure.In Penglai,where the Eight-Immortal culture prevails,calabashes enjoy great popularity among the local people.The Eight-Immortal calabashes made using the calabash carving technique of intangible cultural heritage embody all Penglai people's special love for calabashes.
