Disease is a frightening but fascinating literary motif. From a brand-new,three-dimensional,and multidimensional perspective, and through three imageries of cancer, plague and AIDS,Chinese contemporary novels show the swaying disease landscape, reflect on the nature of disease(death)in the dual dimensions of highlighting the value of an individual life and building a sound society, and dig out the deep aesthetic connotation, human connotation and cultural spirit behind it.Therefore,Chinese contemporary novels should pay attention to important spiritual propositions about how to soothe the pain of an individual life and repair the trauma of national blood vessels after reflecting on diseases and disasters.
