梳妆台在民国时期家具中可谓一枝独秀,它是一种女性专属家具,从西方传入后在民国时期盛行,随着民国时期结束也逐渐销声匿迹。梳妆台作为当时住宅卧室家具的一部分,其产生和发展并非偶然,与民国时期社会密切相关,无论从功能、造型、工艺到使用,都深深烙下了民国时代的印记。对其文化成因和风格特征的深入解读可以更好地还原和审视民国时期历史演变和文化形态。

Dressing table can be said unique and thrived among the furniture of Republic of China. It was a female furniture introduced from the West which was prevailing in the Republic of China and gradually disappeared at the end of this era. As part of residential furniture for bedroom, the emergence and development of dressing tables was not accidental, it was related to the society closely and branded deeply with the mark of the era, no matter its function, modelling, craftsmanship and the use. In-depth interpretation of dressing tables on cultural causes and style characteristics can better restore and inspect historical evolution as well as cultural form of the Republic of China for us.
