文化层是考古学研究中的一个基本概念,它是因人类活动而形成的具有一定时间和空间涵义的成层堆积的总称,是一种特殊的地层类型。史前时期文化层的形成原因是复杂和多样的,不同时代、不同类型遗址的文化层,同一遗址不同区域的文化层,有着不同的形成原因,人类活动和自然因素在史前遗址文化层的形成过程中,起到了不同的作用,反映了不同的堆积过程。

Cultural layer is a basic concept in archaeological research.It is the deposit formed by human activities within a specific time and space,and it is a special type of layer compared with the natural stratum.The cultural layers were formed by complicated and various processes in prehistoric period,particularly in sites at different times or different type of activities.Sometimes,even in the same site,different forming processes existed in different areas.Human activities and natural elements played different roles in forming the cultural strata in prehistoric times,and this was reflected through the processes of deposit.
