摘要
华裔作家林浩聪是多伦多医院的急诊医生,他的短篇故事集《医生这件事》讲述几位年轻医学生在临床工作中遇到各种挑战的故事。以故事集里的《疫情跟踪记录》为出发点,以生命危象中的叙事伦理为框架,讲述年轻医护人员面对突如其来的致命疫情所承受的巨大心身压力,以及在他们感染疫病成为患者后,在死亡的威胁面前,如何反思医学的不确定性,做出自己的生命抉择的故事。重读《疫情跟踪记录》能够更深刻地揭示疫情下的人性考验以及医护人员的职业伦理反思。
Bloodletting&Miraculous Cures is a volume of interconnected short stories about the lives,encounters,challenges and relationships several young medical students in Toronto inspired by the physician writer Lam Vincent's own experiences in medical school and as a professional physician at the Emergency Department in Toronto Hospital.The essay takes one of the stories Contact Tracing as a departure,framed on the narrative ethics of encountering life dangers,illustrating the huge pressure the medical practitioners faced towards the sudden outbreak of SARS during the early 2003.The story also demonstrates that when the doctors became the patients,how they fought with their own fears and powerlessness.Rereading this story can trigger the ethical reflections on the medical profession and the humanistic essence.
