留美生陶行知与中国教育现代化

Tao Xingzhi as an International Student in the USA and the Education Modernization in China

摘要 民国初年,陶行知留学美国,在哥伦比亚大学师范学院师从杜威、斯特雷耶、孟禄等名师,受到系统的教育训练。在美国的学习奠定了他归国后教育改革理论和实践的基础。陶行知留美归国后即投身于教育改革,引介实用主义教育学说,力推新学制改革,倡行新的教学方法,推动中国近代教育转型,尽管这种转型带有“美国影响”的烙印,但使中国传统教育步入现代教育。 In the early years of the Republic of China,Tao Xingzhi pursue his studies in the United States,and studied systematically underprominent teachers such as Dewey,Strayer,and Paul Monroe at the Teachers College of Columbia University.Such experience laid the theoretical and practical foundation for his education reform after his return to China.Tao Xingzhi devoted himself to education reform after returning to China,introduced pragmatic education doctrine,carried out new academic system reforms,advocated new teaching methods,and promoted the transformation of modern Chinese education.Even though this transformation bears the imprint of“American influence”,it pushed forward the traditional Chinese education into modern education.
