珂罗版是英文名collotype的音译,珂罗版印刷又称玻璃板印刷,它是照相平板印刷工艺的一种,由德国摄影师发明,于清光绪年间传入我国,距今已经有一百多年的历史了,目前主要用于印制书法、绘画、手稿、碑帖等。启功先生曾这样评价珂罗版印刷技术:"对于古代书画无疑是一种特殊手段,艺术价值和逼真程度上堪称:‘下真迹一等’。"

Collotype is a transliteration of"collotype"in English.Collotype printing,also known as"glass plate printing",refers to a type of photolithography process.It was invented by a German photographer and was introduced to China during the Qing Dynasty.It has a long history of more than 100 years.Currently,collotype printing is mainly applied for printing of calligraphy works,paintings,manuscripts,stele inscriptions,etc.
