《古船》语言文化负载词翻译方法探究——以葛浩文英译本为例

不同民族文化间的文化空缺给文学作品的翻译,尤其是文化负载词的翻译,带来了巨大挑战。乡土题材小说《古船》在描写胶东地区下层人民的生产生活时,运用了大量民间的口语表达及中国经典作品中的诗句名言等。针对《古船》中的语言文化负载语,葛浩文在翻译时偏向于忠实于原文,运用直译法、套译法及意译法,确保中国文学作品的海外传播既实现了跨文化交流的目的,又保留了中国特色语言表达形式,从而使具有中国文化特色的文学作品能够吸引异质文化读者并被其接受。

The cultural gaps between various cultures bring great challenges to the translation of literary works,especially the translation of culture-loaded words.The author of the Ancient Ship that is a local novel uses a large number of colloquial words,sayings and verses to describe the life and production of lower class people in Jiaodong area.When translating the linguistic culture-loaded words in the novel,Howard Goldblatt remained true to the text and adopted the translation methods such as literal translation,free translation and corresponding translation.It not only achieves cross-cultural communication,but also retains the linguistic expressions with Chinese characteristics,so that literary works with Chinese cultural characteristics can attract and be accepted by readers of heterogeneous cultures.
