贫困对老年心理健康的影响及其城乡差异--基于CLASS数据的分析

Influence of Poverty on Older Adults’ Mental Health and the Differences between Urban and Rural Areas: Based on the Dataset from CLASS

基于2014年中国老年社会追踪调查(CLASS)中的个人数据,运用分层回归模型,实证分析贫困对老年心理健康的影响。结果表明:绝对贫困和相对贫困都是老年人个体心理健康的不利因素,绝对贫困和相对贫困对老年人的生活满意度和抑郁感均有显著的不利影响。绝对贫困和相对贫困对老年人心理健康的影响都存在城乡差异,绝对贫困和相对贫困对城市老年人生活满意度和抑郁感有更强的不利影响,对农村老年人生活满意度和抑郁感的不利影响相对更弱。

Based on the 2014 China Senior Longitudinal Aging Social Survey( CLASS) data,I use multi-level regression models to examine the effect of poverty on older adults’ mental health. The results show that absolute poverty and relative poverty are both unfavorable factors for older adults’ mental health.Absolute poverty and relative poverty have significant adverse effects on the life satisfaction and depression of the elderly. The effects of absolute poverty and relative poverty on the mental health of the elderly are different between urban and rural areas. Absolute poverty and relative poverty have stronger negative effects on urban residents’ life satisfaction and depression,while they have weaker negative effects on rural residents’ life satisfaction and depression.
