Exploration of Integrating Chinese Culture into English Teaching in 7-Year Packaged Program from High School to College

长期以来,我国的英语教育一直偏重西方文化信息和知识的输入,而中国文化较少涉及或缺失,导致学生用英语表达中国文化的意识不强,能力不足。在中国文化“走出去”的战略背景下,将中国文化融入到英语教学中,不仅有利于提升学生的跨文化交际能力,使他们在中外文化交流中更好地弘扬中国文化,讲好中国故事,而且能够拓展和加深学生对中国文化的认知和理解,坚定文化自信,增强民族文化认同感,培育中国精神,增强爱国情怀。

For a long time,China’s English education has been focusing on the input of western cultural information and knowledge,while Chinese culture has long been ignored,which results in students’weak awareness and insufficient ability to express Chinese culture in English.Under the background of Chinese culture“Going Global”strategy,integrating Chinese culture into English teaching can not only help students improve cross-cultural communication skills to better carry forward Chinese culture and talk Chinese story in the Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges,but also help them better understand Chinese culture,build stronger cultural confidence,strengthen national cultural identity,cultivate Chinese spirit and enhance patriotism.
