This article is a commentary on the article entitled“Indigenous Management Research from an Engaged Scholaship Perspective”(Van de Ven and Jing,2020),which has provided the detailed model and approach for engaging in in-digenous management research through engaged scholarship with two case lustrationse.s Built upon this article,we further argue that an effective engagement in indigenous management research through engaged scholarship requires a proper balance between global-ization and localization as well as between“insider'”and“outsider”roles, across the domains of research perspective, team com-position,and theory-building,where the unique role of“crossover”is highly salient.
