英国当代著名小说家伊恩·麦克尤恩于2014年所创作的《儿童法案》一书因其题材选择引起广泛关注,然而,包裹在法律与宗教外衣下该作品的内核却另有所指。麦克尤恩通过对“身体”的书写来向读者剖析隐藏在其背后的欲望,揭示“身体”与推动故事情节发展之间的内在联系,并通过人物的身体言行展现英国当代社会中面临婚姻、家庭、工作三重压力下成年人的精神世界以及不谙世事的孩童如何在死亡威胁、宗教信仰、个人意志间进行抉择的生活情境。

The Children Act,written by Ian McEwan,a British famous modern novelist,draws great attention of the reading public because of its theme choice,however,there is something else beyond the discussion of law and religion.Through writing the body,McEwan exposes characters'desire,and the connection between the body and the plot.Besides,the words and deeds of the body shows the mental world of adults in face of the triple pressures of marriage,family and work,and how the children make choices between the threat of death,religious belief,and personal will.
