A Study of the Translation of Antithesis in Jiang Jiansong's Version of Cai Gen Tan

文章以对偶辞格三大特征——对称性、装饰性和完形性为框架,分析《菜根谭》中文的语言对称、装饰、完形之美,并采用译文与原文对比方法,探讨蒋坚松《菜根谭》英译中对偶句式在对称性、装饰性以及完形性方面的再现情况及其对对偶辞格英译的启示。

For a long time,the figure of speech of antithesis,featured by symmetricalness,decorativeness and holisticness,has been deeply loved by the Chinese people.The paper made a comparative analysis of the features of antithesis in the original text of Cai Gen Tan and its English version by Jiang Jiansong,aiming at revealing the reproduction of antithesis in English translation in terms of symmetry,decoration and gestation and its enlightenment on the English translation of antithesis.
