The Great Gatsby — The Lost Generation

The Great Gatsby is a story about the romance between Gatsby and Daisy in the jazz era,when love was doomed to be imperfect,and it was destined to finish his tragedy from the beginning.Because Gatsby's own diligent and effort could not change his own background,and the upper class could not approve him a little.Even Daisy liked him just because he was rich,and all of this disappeared when the truth was revealed.Gatsby in the end did get her true love.It also indirectly explains the author's view that the American Dream is a dream after all.Those who believe in the American dream only prove the absurdity of the American dream with a life time of struggle.In such an era,the lost generation has a deep sense of negation to society,life and even themselves.
