At the beginning of the founding of new China,the Party′s first generation of central collective leadership with Mao Zedong as the core planed the blueprint for the industrialization of new China,planed the railway network in Southwest China,formulated the southwest third line construction strategy from the dual consideration of national defense and economy in changeable 1964,designed the important projects of"two bases and one line",and led the Chinese army and people to build the world miracle——Chengdu-Kunming railway,making the natural chasm in southwest China turn into a thoroughfare.The construction and operation of the old Chengdu-Kunming railway has realized the hundred year railway dream of the people in southwest China and fully demonstrated the Chinese spirit,Chinese value and Chinese power.It has embodied the strategic vision and feelings for the country and the people of the Party′s first generation of central collective leadership with Mao Zedong as the core to explore the socialist construction path independently;demonstrated the national spirit with patriotism as the core of Chinese army and people and the spirit of the times with reform and innovation as the core;highlighted the advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics to concentrate on major events;and showed the railwaymen′s value pursuit of socialism,such as conscientious and meticulous in work,service for the people,dedicated,and national unity.These spiritual wealth is extremely valuable,compared with the material value that Chengdu-Kunming railway brings to the country and the people of southwest China,and will always be cherished and carried forward.
