摘要
作为公示语翻译的参照标准,《公共服务领域英文译写规范》自2014年陆续颁布以来,天津城市景观公示语的英译质量仍未得到显著改善。针对此现象,提出公示语英译应在“新修辞”理论的指导下,以受众认同为导向,尊重英汉语修辞资源的差异,以遵循惯有译法为基础,并针对本地化特色进行译写,进而提升城市整体语言环境。
As the guiding principles for public signs translation,Guidelines for the Use of English in Public Service Areas was released in 2014.However,the quality of public signs translation in Tianjin has not been greatly improved.This paper suggests that the English translation of public signs should be conducted under the guidance of New Rhetoric theory and be target readers oriented.Translators should respect the differences between English and Chinese rhetorical resources,comply with usual translation methods and adapt according to the characteristics of local public signs so as to enhance the overall language environment.
