故宫博物院藏有翁同龢致山东巡抚张曜的信札5通。这些信札主要反映了翁同龢向张曜请托,为亲戚、门生、故旧等寻求关照的情形。这些信札的内容,是晚清官场生态的典型反映。

The Palace Museum has a collection of 5 letters written by Weng Tonghe to Zhang Yao,the governor of Shandong province then.Weng Tonghe wrote these letters mainly to entrust Zhang Yao to give appropriate care to his relatives,students,old friends and acquaintances.The content of these letters is a typical reflection of the officialdom ecology in the late Qing Dynasty.
