小说《沃斯米娅跃出大海》是科威特著名女作家莱伊拉·奥斯曼的代表作品,其沿袭了作者一贯的创作主旨,即揭露传统世俗对民众尤其是女性的束缚,呼吁女性解放。同时,该作品中浓烈的海洋意识和深厚的海洋情结也使其与海洋文学有着千丝万缕的关系,成为阿拉伯海洋文学的代表作品之一。本文对《沃斯米娅跃出大海》中所蕴含的海洋意识进行了研究,从创作者的角度,分析了海洋意识在人物形象塑造、故事社会背景反映和人海关系映射三个方面的艺术功能,探索了海洋物象背后作者的情感与哲思,以加深对小说的理解。
The novel Wasmiyya Comes Out of the Sea is the representative work of the famous Kuwaiti female writer Laila al-Othman,it follows the author’s consistent creative themes:exposing the shackles of traditional secularism to the people,especially women,and calling for women’s liberation.At the same time,the strong ocean consciousness and deep ocean complex in the novel also make it inextricably linked with marine literature and become one of the representative works of Arab marine literature.This essay studies the ocean consciousness contained in the novel and analyzes the artistic functions of ocean consciousness in the three aspects of character image formation,social background reflection and human-sea relationship,and explores the author’s emotions and philosophies behind the marine objects to deepen understanding of the novel.
