Japanese-born British Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro’s 2005 novel Never Let Me Go is a milestone in the history of personal creation, witnessing the transformation of his writing style, from ethnic to international. The clones in the novel have been managed collectively since childhood, and as the marginalized existence of the society, they have been treated in an"other’s"way by the boarding school Hailsham, thus the ambivalence has arisen. Such deliberate construction of cultural identity will inevitably lead to our reflection: if the individual development is actualized based on marginalizing the others, then the whole society falls into a vicious cycle, and excessive"egoism"becomes the main theme of the time. The blind pursuit of individual development and the sacrifice of the other will eventually lead to multi-dimensional disputes. Only the sustainable survival and development mode can signify the true appeal of historical trends.
