Modern Chinese Newspapers and Politics from the Perspective of Communication Political Economy

中国近代报刊充当了救亡与启蒙的双重使命,报馆被视作与学堂、剧场同等重要甚至更为重要的工具或舆论平台。近代报刊的政治功能与资本密切关联。从传播政治学层面分析报刊的政治功能是恰当的。传播政治经济学在近代中国传播空间化、时代定位等方面对舆论精英颇有影响。就西方对华报刊而言,近代半殖民地社会性质在报刊等传播系统中有所呈现。在西方坚船利炮冲击下,中国社会由原来的封建社会变成半封建半殖民地社会。这定义了历史意义上的时空体验维度及其与传播的关系。另一方面,半封建半殖民地亦意味着中国由小农经济渐渐进入工业化生产的状态,这当中传播与社会建构多次重合。这更多的是从政治经济学层面来探讨的。

Modern Chinese newspapers and periodicals serve as the dual mission both of saving the nation from death and enlightenment,so the newspaper office was regarded as an instrument or a public opinion platform,which was important or even more important than a school or theater.The political function of modern newspapers and periodicals are closely related to capital.It is appropriate to analyze the political function of newspapers and periodicals from the aspect of communication politics.The political economy of communication had a great influence on elite in the aspects of communication space and time orientation in modern China.As for the western newspapers which is to China,it is no doubt a presentation of the nature of modern semi-colonial society in the press and other communication systems.Under the impact of western strong boats and cannons,Chinese society changed from feudal society to semi-feudal society.It had defined the historical dimension of space-time experience and its relationship with communication.On the another hand,the semi-colonial and semi-feudal means that China has gradually moved from small-scale peasant economy to industrial production,where communication and social construction overlap many times.It is more from political economy to discuss.
