留学生跨文化交际障碍与应对策略

Barriers in Cross-cultural Communication and Coping Strategies for International Students

随着高等教育国际化的推进,中国留学生的海外跨文化交际障碍已成为国内教育学者亟待解决的问题。通过对在英及已归国留学生的调查,发现中国留学生在英国的人际交往、学业适应和日常生活的困难程度依次递减,社交互动是其跨文化交际中的主要障碍。通过分析发现其根本原因在于学生对英国社交文化的了解不足以及缺乏跨文化交际实践经历。最后提出高校外语教育应在语言课堂上多进行西方社交文化的渗入、为学生创造跨文化交际实践的机会等策略。

With the development of the internationalization of higher education,Chinese students'barriers in cross-cultural communication have become an urgent problem to be solved by domestic educational scholars.Based on the investigation of overseas students in the UK and those who have returned home,the paper finds that the difficulty of interpersonal communication,academic adjustment and daily life of Chinese students in the UK decreases in turn,and social interaction is the main obstacle in their cross-cultural communication.The fundamental reason lies in students'lack of understanding of British social culture and practical experience of cross-cultural communication.It is suggested that foreign language education in colleges and universities should make more efforts to infiltrate the social culture of western countries in the language classes,and create practical opportunities for students to participate in cross-cultural communication activities.
