Three Dimensions to Improve Teaching Quality of Xunzi’s Exhortation to Learning From the Perspective of Cultural Inheritance

《荀子·劝学》是千古名篇,历来为人所传诵。深刻充实的观点,生动形象的比喻,铺陈排比的语言,完整呼应的结构,体现荀子严谨的思维能力,标志着中国古代议论文的成熟。无论是中学文言文教学,还是大学的中国古代文学教学,都应该从以文本细读为基础,从文学、学术和思想的维度来阐释《荀子·劝学》,使学生对文章的思想价值、学术价值和文学价值有更充分的认识,从而达到良好的教学效果。

Xunzi’s Exhortation to Learning,a classic widely read for thousands of years with insight,metaphor,parallelism and cohesion,reflected Xunzi’s rigorous thinking and marked the maturity of ancient Chinese argumentative papers. Whether teaching classical Chinese in middle schools or teaching ancient Chinese literature in universities,we should interpret Xunzi’s Exhortation to Learning in literary,academic and spiritual dimensions through a close reading of its texts,which enables students to have a better understanding of its values in literature and academy to achieve a good teaching effect.
