王源昶教授在世界上首创胸外心脏按压心肺复苏术

Professor Yuanchang Wang is the first person to invent external chest cardiac compression for cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the world

心肺复苏是抢救呼吸循环骤停患者所采取的最基本和最重要的方法。有效的心肺复苏有利于提高抢救成功率和恢复患者脑功能。天津医学院附属医院麻醉科的王源昶教授于1957年发表在《中华外科杂志》上的"硬脊膜外阻滞麻醉之意外及其处理"一文就在世界上首先报道了胸外心脏按压进行心肺复苏成功的病例,并详细描述了其应用的具体方法,这在心肺复苏术领域是具有里程碑意义的发明,也是我国麻醉学对世界医学的重大贡献。此后至1964年期间他连续发表多篇文章介绍应用此法救治心跳骤停患者的经验,这比1960年Kouwenhoven发表在《Journal of the American Medical Association》上的、目前国际上公认的最早提出胸外心脏按压心肺复苏方法的文献"Closed-chest cardiac massage"更早。王源昶教授应是在世界上提出胸外心脏按压进行心肺复苏概念、理论与方法的第一人。

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is the most basic and important method to rescue the patient with breathing and circulatory arrest.Effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation can improve the survival ratio and the recovery of brain function.External chest cardiac compression was firstly reported for cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the world by Professor Yuanchang Wang in the title of"Accidents and its management during epidural anesthesia"on Chinese Journal of Surgery published in 1957,who worked in anesthesiology department of Affiliated General Hospital,Tianjin Medical College.This is an important invention with milestone significance in the field of cardiopulmonary resuscitation,and is a big contribution to the world medical science,which is ahead of the earliest report with global recognition by Kouwenhoven in the title of"Closed-chest cardiac massage"published on Journal of the American Medical Association in 1960.After that,Professor Wang continuously reported several papers about the experiences of applying this method to treat patients with cardiac arrest in detail.Therefore,it is obviouse that Professor Yuanchang Wang is the first person to propose the concept,theory and method of external chest cardiac compression in the world.
