XU Zhimo and Julian:Bridge to LING Shuhua and Woolf

中国现代作家受到英国意识流作家伍尔夫影响的途径主要有两条:一是留学英国的中国文人直接阅读伍尔夫的英文原著而受到她的影响;二是身在国内、通晓外文并具有深厚西方文化素养的中国作家通过其他方式而受到伍尔夫的影响。凌叔华就属于后一种。凌叔华因为与伍尔夫精神上的契合而与她产生了文学关联,其媒介是中国现代著名诗人徐志摩和英国文化精英集团——布鲁姆斯伯里文化圈的第二代诗人朱利安·贝尔。

There are two ways for Chinese modern writers to be influenced by Woolf,a British stream-of-consciousness writer.One is to accept Woolf’s influence by reading directly her original English works,and the other is that Chinese writers who are in China,but are proficient in foreign languages and have profound Western cultural literacy are influenced by Woolf through various channels.LING Shuhua belongs to the latter category.XU Zhimo,a famous modern Chinese poet,and Julian Bell,the second generation of the British cultural elite group"Bloomsbury",are the bridge of literary connection between LING Shuhua and Woolf for their spiritual agreement.
