The network interpersonal relationship formed by the computer-mediated communication(CMC)was new and attracted wide attention recently.Based on previous research, this study manipulated both the CMC modes and self-disclosure in order to explore whether and how they influenced the establishment of network interpersonal intimacy. The results showed that the CMC modes could affect the relational communication intimacy, the enjoyment of the interaction, the responsiveness of the other and the Inclusion of Other in the Self(IOS)intimacy. The scores in these dimensions were higher in the voice communication mode than in the text communication mode.Self-disclosure could influence the responsiveness of the other, which was higher in the self-disclosure topic condition than that in the free chat topic condition. But self-disclosure could not affect the relational communication intimacy, the enjoyment of the interaction and the IOS intimacy. Moreover, the interaction between the CMC modes and self-disclosure was not significant. The above results showed that the CMC modes and self-disclosure had an influence on intimacy, but there was no interaction between them.
