Human reproductive health is an important cornerstone of racial reproduction, any linkage problems can lead to reproductive disorders. In today’s society, reproductive disorders are very common, but the reasons are not clear, and there is no effective means of regulation and control. As a necessary nutrient element for human body, trace metal elements play a vital role in many physiological processes. In this study,we found that the mutation of the Drosophila gene Catsup in the ovary significantly reduced the reproductive capacity of female Drosophila melanogaster, and these Drosophila melanogaster were most likely to have a reduction in reproductive capacity due to ovarian dysplasia.Bioinformatics analysis showed that the protein encoded by Catsup was probably a zinc-transferring protein located in Golgi apparatus,so Catsup may affect female reproductive ability by regulating zinc homeostasis in ovaries. This will provide a favorable model for the follow-up study of the effect of zinc ions on female reproduction, and provide a new clue for the study of female reproductive disorders.
