New research sheds light on the origin of wall-bounded turbulence

With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,the research team led by Prof.Li CunBiao(李存标)at the State Key Laboratory for Turbulence and Complex Systems(LTCS),Peking University,found that a three-dimensional soliton-like coherent structure(3-D wave)plays a key role in boundary-layer transition,which was published in J Fluid Mech (2020,890:A11).
