Have you ever seen a carved fruit?Vegetable?Such a carving can be considered a"consummate work of art."Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County,in Central Chinafs Hunan Province,is known for its carved and preserved fruits and vegetables.For more than 2,000 years,the Miao and Dong women have been carving patterns into various fruits and vegetables—including grapefruit,wax gourds,cucumbers and tomatoes—before preserving the foods.The craft is on the list of the province’s intangible cultural heritage.
雕花蜜饯是湖南靖州传统工艺美术食品,其制作工艺流传至今已有2000多年历史。当地勤劳智慧的苗侗人民通过精湛的民间雕刻技艺,将柚子、冬瓜、黄瓜、西红柿等食物作为载体,记录自己的民族文化。如今,靖州雕花蜜饯技艺已被列为湖南省级非物质文化遗产项目。
