Leech的语用语言礼貌观

A critique of Leechian pragmalinguistic politeness

自Eelen所著《礼貌评介》问世以来,(不)礼貌研究转向以后现代话语分析范式为主导,宣判了经典语用语言礼貌的死刑。然而近年来,随着后现代模型应用范围狭窄、解释力有限等弊端的不断显现,礼貌的语用语言思潮又迎来新的生机。本文以语用礼貌研究历程中具有代表性的Leech礼貌模型为线索,对比分析当前主流礼貌模型,以期为语用语言范式的合理性一辩。

Since the publication of Eelen’s seminal work A Critique of Politeness,(im)politeness study is dominated by the postmodern discursive analytical frameworks,proclaiming the death of classical pragmalinguistic approach.In recent years,however,the limited explanatory power of postmodern paradigms requires scholars to recuperate paralinguistic politeness.Drawing on Leech’s widely celebr-ated politeness model,this paper reexamines his revised framework and pinpoints it in the current politeness research trend,attempting to defend this revitalized pragmalinguistic approach.
