西蒙喜剧结构中的“犹太性”研究

On "Jewishness" of the Structure of Simon's Comedies

尼尔·西蒙是战后美国最著名的喜剧家之一。他的作品寓庄于谐,具有丰富的艺术表现力和深邃的思想内涵。如影随形的犹太身份意识、根深蒂固的犹太宗教与文化传统、对现代环境下美国犹太人的生活体验以及对百老汇犹太剧作家创作风格的继承,都深刻地影响了西蒙的创作理念和艺术表征,从而使他的喜剧在结构上表现出显著的犹太特征。与此同时,由于复杂的原因,西蒙喜剧结构中的"犹太性"是较为隐讳的。本文拟从场景、情节、结尾三个视角出发,解读结构中蕴含的"犹太性",探究西蒙创作思想中浓厚的民族情愫及他对现代环境下犹太人存在意识的认知。

Neil Simon was one of the most famous comedians in the United States after the WWII.His works always maintain tension in the humor,while presenting rich artistic expressiveness and profound ideological connotations.In particular,with the strong influence of haunting Jewish identity awareness and deeply rooted Jewish religious and cultural traditions,deep understanding of American Jews’ life in the modern environment and the inheritance of the creative style of Broadway Jewish dramatists,Simon develops greatly his unique creative ideas and artistic representations,thus making his comedy structure possess remarkable Jewish features.Meanwhile,because of his personal and social reasons,Simon tries to present these features in an obscure way.By interpreting this obscurity,this paper intends to explore the strong national sentiment in Simon’s mind and his cognition of the surviving consciousness of Jews in the modern environment by interpreting the"Jewishness" contained in its structure from three perspectives of scene,plot and ending.
