Advances in Antioxidation of Betaine and Its Application in Livestock Production

甜菜碱是参与甲硫氨酸-同型半胱氨酸循环的已知甲基供体,这使得甜菜碱具有许多生理活性。在畜禽生产上,甜菜碱改善饲料风味、促进畜禽生长和改善胴体品质等应用效果已经被广泛证实。本文主要对甜菜碱的抗氧化作用及其在畜禽生产中的应用进行综述,为其作为畜禽抗氧化剂的合理使用提供理论依据。

Betaine is a known methyl group donor that participates in the methionine homocysteine cycle, to which many of physiological activities of betaine are related. In livestock production, it has been widely confirmed to improve feed flavor, promote animal growth and improve carcass quality. To provide a theoretical basis for its effective utilization as antioxidants for livestock, the antioxidation of betaine and its application in livestock production are reviewed in this paper.
