The Dissemination Strategies of Western Medicine in The Peking Magazine:A Survey

《中西闻见录》是西方传教士在北京创办的第一份近代华文报刊,成功突破了晚清政府最后一块禁地。作为近代科普性刊物,其在传播西学中发挥着引领作用,其中德贞所介绍的西医学占据着特殊位置。在中西医存在冲突的背景下,《中西闻见录》调整传播策略,通过创造共同的语义空间、设计本土化的感观形式、采取设问自答的写作方法和实行连载的组稿方式来实现传播目的。但传播过程中也存在着传播知识和传播形式等方面的局限。

The Peking Magazine is the first modern Chinese newspaper which was founded by Western missionaries in Beijing and successfully broke through the last forbidden land of the Late Qing government.As a modern popular science publication,the Peking Magazine played a leading role in the dissemination of Western learning.The Western medicine introduced by John Dudgeo occupied a special position.In the context of the conflict between Chinese and Western medicine,the Peking Magazin adjusted its dissemination strategies to achieve its communication purpose.It had created a common semantic space,designed localized sensory forms,adopted the method of asking rhetorical questions and responses and implemented serialized manuscripts.However,there were limitations in knowledge disseminating and disseminating forms.
