异域视野与中国茶文化的误读——基于美国纪录片《中国茶:东方灵药》的观察

On the Misreading of Chinese Tea Culture in the Context of Foreign View——Based on the Observation of the American Documentary Chinese Tea:Elixir of the Orient

美国佐治亚州公共电视台(GPB)所拍摄的茶文化纪录片《中国茶:东方灵药》(Chinese Tea:Elixir of the Orient)曾在艾美奖评选中获奖,甚至成为美国学校了解中国文化的教学资源。该片以中国茶文化为主题,将目光投往东方对其进行追本溯源,较好地展示了中国茶文化的起源、发展与主要内容。或许源于文化隔膜,其内容中出现了视陆羽自学成才写就《茶经》与认为茶的发音源于"擦"的误解;在呈现茶文化与儒释道的关联之时,其对卢仝《七碗茶诗》的认识略显模糊;片中也未交代饮茶传至北美的历程,内容编排存有疏漏。可以说,该片在获得巨大成功的同时亦有提示意义:茶文化专题纪录片在内容方面须更加严谨,而学界涉及海外对于中国文化的认识时须予以审慎辨析。

Chinese Tea:Elixir of the Orient,a documentary about tea culture shot by Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB),has won Emmy Awards and even become a teaching resource for American schools to understand Chinese culture.Taking Chinese tea culture as the theme,the film traces its origin to the East,showing the origin,development and main content of Chinese tea culture.Perhaps due to cultural estrangement,there appears the misunderstanding that Lu Yu became talented through self-study to write The Classic of Tea by himself and that the pronunciation of "Cha"(tea) comes from the word "Ca";in the presentation of tea culture and Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,its understanding of Lu Tong’s "Qi Wan Cha Ge" slightly blurred;the film also does not account for the spread of tea to North America,and the content layout has some shortcomings as well.The great success of the film also suggests that the documentary on tea culture should be more rigorous in its content,while the academic circle should be more careful to analyze the overseas understanding of Chinese culture.
