中药"气味"难以轻易发生改变。根据中药特殊的气味可以总结出其共同功效,如具有芳香或辛燥之气的中药具有避秽除邪、化湿醒脾、开窍散邪、温经止痛、发散表邪等作用;闻之无气味或有清凉之感的中药多具有化湿、涌吐、利水渗湿和平肝熄风之功用;具腥膻之气的中药多有熄风止痉、软坚散结、活血祛瘀等作用。

The "odor" of traditional Chinese medicine is difficult to change easily.According to the special smell of traditional Chinese medicine,its common effects can be summarized.For example,traditional Chinese medicine with aromatic or pungent Qi usually has the functions of avoiding filth,removing evil factors,resolving Dampness,activating Spleen,opening qiao to dispel evil,warming menstruation to stop pain and dispersing evil factor in surface.Most of the traditional Chinese medicines without odor or with cooling sensation have the functions of resolving Dampness,helping with vomiting,diuresis to dispel Dampness and easing Liver Qi to stop Wind;most of the traditional Chinese medicines with the smell of fish or mutton have the functions of extinguishing Wind and preventing spasm,resolving hard lump,and promoting blood circulation and removing stasis.
