摘要
自新冠肺炎疫情发生以来,中国直面危机,积极行动,在疫情防控方面取得了重要的阶段性成果,但是以《纽约时报》为代表的一些西方媒体在报道中国的新冠肺炎疫情时却置事实于不顾,对中国的抗疫努力进行歪曲和诋毁。本研究选取《纽约时报》上20篇相关新闻报道,结合(非)正当化理论框架,剖析一些西方媒体在报道中国的新冠肺炎疫情时所采取的非正当化策略,以揭示新闻话语背后渗透的意识形态意蕴。
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19,China has taken active and effective actions against this unprecedented pandemic and achieved important positive outcomes.However,some western media represented by The New York Times has turned a blind eye to the hard facts and presented a biased and often distorted covering of China’s efforts and achievements to readers.Using a revised model of van Leeuwen’s and Vaara et al.’s(de-)legitimation theory framework and drawing on a corpus of 20 related news reports from The New York Times,this study investigates the de-legitimation strategies used by some western media in reporting China’s fight against the epidemic.This research helps reveal the ideological implication of news discourse.
