The expression of architectural context is of great value in the inheritance and renewal of old industrial remains.The article is based on the field investigation of the reconstruction of Harbin Yuanjilian Machinery Factory.From the perspective of contextualism,it analyzes the craftsmanship of the old industrial base and integrates the essence of cultural heritage into the Harbin West City Red Square planning,based on context from the perspective of the analysis of Xicheng Red Square transformation strategy.
