“Angel,Looking Home”is American writer Thomas Wolff’s first novel.It is a highly autobiographical initiation novel.It tells the story of Eugene’s escape,search and return,depicts Eugene’s contradictory and complicated complex of roaming,and explains the author’s deep thinking on fate through the conflict and reconciliation between Eugene and his family and society.This paper interprets the literary value of this novel from two aspects:the rich naturalistic characteristics and the poetic complex of roaming.
